Welcome to Dalen!
We’re Sofie and Erik — a couple who traded city life for country peace and a passion for animals. When we bought the farm at Dalen in 2023, it was a dream come true. Living in such a peaceful place right next to nature — with birds singing and moose wandering by — is truly wonderful.
We originally lived just 2 km away on a smaller property, but when this place came up for sale, we simply couldn’t resist. It was perfect: beautiful land, plenty of room, and the ideal spot to grow Sofie’s beloved small animal pet hotel, Teddytassen. Today we have around 100 cozy spaces for rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, and other small animals.
We know that life sometimes calls for a vacation — and not everyone can bring their furry friend along. That’s exactly why Teddytassen exists: a place where your small animal can be cared for with love and attention while you’re away.
Every year we also help rehome many rabbits. When an owner can no longer care for their bunny, we do our very best to find them a wonderful new home — because every rabbit deserves a happy life.
In the barn where the animals stay, you’ll also find our small unmanned store stocked with everything your rabbit, guinea pig, or hamster might need — snacks, toys, and essentials included.
Sofie Liljeberg
Sofie is the founder of Teddytassen and the heart behind everything we do with rabbits and animals. What started as a hobby of rabbit breeding grew into a full-time passion and a trusted business. She knows everything about rabbits — from fur colors to quirky behaviors — and genuinely loves helping customers with tips, tools, and tricks for happy pets.
Erik Liljeberg
Erik is Sofie’s husband and almost equally involved in the day-to-day life of Teddytassen. By trade he’s a system developer and web professional who has been building websites since the last century (yes — that does make him vintage tech cool). He also serves as a local politician and city council member. Whether it’s rabbit knowledge or finding the best route on Google Maps, Erik is your go-to host.
Our children
- Hugo: 18 years old, studying to be a sailor. He sometimes helps out on the farm and absolutely loves to drive our tractor.
- Björn: 14 years old, very interested in vintage game consoles. He helps us out around the pet hotel from time to time.
Our pets
- Teddy: Our most trusted guard dog. A lovely, tiny Chihuahua that keeps track of everything happening around the house.
- Rio: Our miniature pinscher, adopted from Portugal.
- Humlan: An elderly lady cat that stayed behind on the farm when the previous owners moved away.
- Pondus: A large black and white tomcat that decided this is a good place to live. He suddenly showed up, first very shy, but now very loving.
