Practical Information

Good things to know about the house, its appliances, rules, and operations during your stay.

A Virtual Warm Welcome

If you happen to arrive late, or if we simply miss each other when you’re ready to settle in, we don't want you to feel lost!

To make sure you feel right at home from the very first second, we’ve prepared a short "digital grand tour" of the house. It covers all the practical bits and pieces so you can spend less time wondering how things work and more time enjoying the view.

You can watch the tour here:

Pets

We truly love animals — but unfortunately, pets are not allowed at Wild Lodge. This helps us keep the lodge comfortable and allergy-friendly for everyone.

Additional guests

Only guests included in the booking may stay at or visit the lodge. Surprise visitors, no matter how lovely, are not permitted.

Smoking

Smoking is not allowed indoors. If you smoke outdoors, please dispose of cigarette butts properly. Nature (and future guests) will appreciate it.

Food & Drinks

To keep our bedroom carpet soft and fresh for all our guests, we kindly ask that you enjoy your meals and drinks in the kitchen or dining area. You are, of course, more than welcome to bring a glass of water to your bedside!

Check-out Tip: If you have leftover groceries that you can’t take with you, please don’t throw them away. Feel free to leave perishable items in the fridge and dry goods on the counter — we’ll make sure nothing goes to waste!

Problems?

If something malfunctions or breaks, let the hosts know immediately. We will do our best to fix it for you and future guests as soon as possible.

Parking

Please park your car in the spot just outside Wild Lodge. If you arrive with more than one car, an additional parking spot is available by the path leading to the meadows (to the left of the first car).

Sleeping bags

Using sleeping bags instead of bed linens is not allowed.

Bed linen

Bed linens, which are mandatory, are not included in the stay. Bed sizes are 180x200 cm in the bedroom and 140x200 in the bed sofas. Comfortable hotel-quality bed linens can be rented from the hosts for 125 SEK/€12.50 per set/person. For guests who booked via Booking.com, the rental fee is paid in cash before checking out. For guests who booked via Airbnb, it can be paid in cash or online.

Towels

Towels and bath towels from GANT for 75 SEK/€7.50 SEK per set. A set consists of one large and one small towel. For guests who booked via Booking.com, the rental fee is paid in cash before checking out. For guests who booked via Airbnb, it can be paid in cash or online.

Cleaning of the house

Final cleaning is not included in the stay. When checking out we kindly ask you to return the house in the way you found it. Check-out information can be found on this page. Final cleaning can be purchased from the hosts. It costs 750 SEK/€75 and does not include dishwashing or bringing waste to the garbage bins. If you want us to clean the house when you check out, please let us know at least the day before check out.

Wifi

Wifi is free to use. No password is required. The network is called Wild-Lodge-Free-Wifi. There is also a QR-code just inside the door to help you connect fast.

Visiting nature

You are very welcome to walk around the meadows surrounding Wild Lodge. Please do not enter the old hunting tower.

Lighting switches

Many of the lighting switches have a built in dimmer. To adjust the light, press and hold the button.

Induction hob

Good to know: If you use all four plates at high power simultaneously, the total maximum power may be exceeded, and the power will then be automatically reduced.

Toaster & Water kettle

Do not use them at the same time. They consume a lot of electricity, and you may trip the breaker.

The Grill

The grill is prepared and ready for a barbecue session. Inside the grill you will find an all-in-one bag of charcoal. Place the bag on the lower grate and light it. No lighter fluid is needed.

Please remember to place the grill at a safe distance from the house when using it.

After use, and once the grill and charcoal have completely cooled, please empty the ashes and clean the grate and tools. The ashes can be placed in a brown bag for organic waste and disposed of in the brown waste bin.

If you would like additional charcoal bags, they are available for purchase from your hosts at SEK 40 / €4 per bag.

The entrance door lock

No key is needed to open the door. You will get or have got a four digit code from your hosts. To open the door, press the large black area above the handle (not the circle at the top). Enter the code and press star (*). If needed your hosts can open the door remotely. The door is always locked from the outside and open from the inside.

The lookout tower on the terrace

May be climbed at your own risk. The ladder can be removed to prevent children from climbing it.

CCTV cameras

For your and our safety, and to catch footage of the wildlife visiting the Wild Lodge, there are CCTV cameras on the front side of the house. There are no cameras inside the house.

Watching TV

There are Apple TV 4Ks connected both to the living room TV and to the bedroom TV. The TV in the living room has Chromecast built in. There is also an HDMI-cable if you want to connect your computer. Both TVs have a JBL sound system connected to it. Please leave language and system settings exactly as you found them — surprise menus in unexpected languages tend to confuse the next guest and your hosts.

Waste & Recycling

Please help us recycle correctly:

  • Organic waste: Brown bag → Brown bin
  • Plastic packaging: Plastic bag → Bin marked with plastic packaging
  • Paper packaging: Paper bag → Bin marked with paper packaging
  • Other waste: Plastic bag → Residual waste bin

If you need more bags, just let us know. PET bottles and cans can be placed in the white container inside the lodge if you do not want to return them to the store.

The garbage bins are located at the intersection to the nearest neighbor, about 200 meters from the Wild Lodge.

If you think of anything that could make a future stay even better, let us know so that we can continually improve the Wild Lodge experience.

The Swedish Right of Public Access (Allemansrätten)

In Sweden, Allemansrätten means you are free to enjoy nature — even on privately owned land. You may walk, hike, cycle, pick berries and mushrooms, and enjoy the outdoors almost anywhere (not in gardens or close to buildings where people live).

There’s just one golden rule: “Don’t disturb, don’t destroy.”

Respect wildlife, nature, and people who live nearby. Leave no trace, take your litter with you, and remember: nature is shared — not owned for the day.

In short: Enjoy freely, behave responsibly, and leave the forest exactly as you found it (or better).

Any questions? Ask your hosts!

We truly want you to enjoy your stay and are happy to help.
